Members of CMC’s International Relations (IR) faculty delivered brief remarks on various policies and approaches that President-elect Donald Trump will pursue on the international stage once he takes office. Following the 2024 election, Claremont McKenna College’s Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies hosted a discussion exploring the impact that a second Trump presidency will have on U.S. foreign relations. Now, the right response to the grandeur of the world is wonder, awe, and—dare I say it—humility. Some will argue that the best response to the vastness of the unknown is to be larger than life, to be greedy, to grab what you can. The universe is bigger and stranger than you could possibly imagine. If any of you have attended convocation over the past four years, you’ve heard it many times before.
